Project Anticipation

"An idle mind is the devil's workshop."

That's what Mom always tells me, so I always have to keep on creating something. Anything.

While waiting for the next project, we had to keep ourselves busy. So, instead of panic-ing, instead of being a worry wart, instead of focusing on what we don't have, we had a light bulb moment...*Ting!!!*

"Make the most of what we have." 

Well, what do we have....

1. A dining table in the wrong place.

2. A living room in the wrong place.

 3. A toilet-na-mahal-na-mahal-ni-Papang that we cannot move it to another location, and all we can do is make it better.

4. An aged kitchen.

5. A really chaotic laundry area.

6. A house that doesn't allow natural light and ventilation.

The Big Boss always says:

"Find a need and fill it."


We were anticipating quite a list:


- Papang & Mamang's old age, they needed sun & air. God created these natural elements because it is beneficial to us. 


- Although they were the healthiest Grandparents, (since they are both athletes) we were anticipating their limited mobility in 10 years. They needed a bigger toilet and a wider circulation space.


- The house being located along national road, therefore, we need an area in the house where one can do outdoor activities without literally stepping outside the busy main road.


- We want to minimize Mamang's monthly PMS. We all get a heart attack everytime the Meralco bill is here. Creating a garden will solve the monthly sickness. It will let the house breathe and see FREELY. 


- The coming of a new family member on January 11, 2011. We have to put things in order, we have to create a baby friendly environment, we have to avoid the clutter, we have to get rid of all the dengue areas, we need to have a beautiful environment for the baby.

Since we understand the purpose of this project so well, we are very eager to fill the need. We have to work smart, be extra careful, to make the REALLY tight budget complete the Project Anticipation. So, help us God.

                                                      TYPE  :  Kitchen & Toilet Renovation

                                                        SIZE  :  12 sqm + 2.88 sqm

                                          LOCATION   :  San Pedro, Laguna 

                                                 STATUS :  Completed November 2010

The Big Boss submitted a very safe design because of the clients' budget: An L-shaped kitchen plan and a very safe toilet design.

But after hearing the clients' wish list, 

Architect 18183 & Architect 23492 tweaked the plans

 and suggested the client to go with their dream kitchen:

a kitchen with an Island counter. 

With the limitation:

 1.2 meter width of the toilet,

We were still able to provide storage without

sacrificing the circulation.

Our main objective for this project is to create a beautiful environment

Hence, client satisfaction.

First Love

                    PROJECT : M residence

                       TYPE : Renovation

                       SIZE : 110 sqm

                   LOCATION : Bacoor, Cavite

                     STATUS : Completed 2010

Habang hinahanda namin ang Kasalan 3210, inihahanda na rin namin ang drawings, permits at iba pang mahahalagang papeles ng M residence. Pagkatapos na pagkatapos ng Kasalan at Pulo't Gata, Day One na agad ng construction.


Wala kaming kasing excited ng nakuha namin ito. Mr&Mrs M. are the  "Ideal Clients" like a glove snuggly fit to a hand. They wanted something out of the box. They had the budget. They had the patience. And most importantly, the TRUST. Exactly what juveniles in this field needed. 


Compared to falling in love for the first time, we gave it our all. Our time, our energy, our$elve$. ;-)


The 2 storey house was completed in 4 months. It was smooth between the client and us. The complicated part was with the workers. We had 3 sets of substitutions before we got the right people.This was the first time we handled 18 individuals at a time.It was chaotic but it paid off in the end.

Open plan is the generic term used in architectural and interior design for any floor plan which makes use of large, open spaces and minimizes the use of small, enclosed rooms. 

The island counter serves as 

a preparation table 

slash breakfast nook 

slash buffet table.

                          

string·er (strngr) n. 1. Architecture:

a. A long heavy horizontal timber used as a support or connector.

b. A horizontal timber used to support upright posts.

The stringers and handrails at the staircase were eliminated.

Decorative stones were used as accent 

to soften the contemporary interiors.
